Similar power ratings therefore do not describe the same mechanical drive requirement or establish that these two executions are interchangeable.

GT60PCH8ATV and the generating channel

The APA-50M three-phase generating channel includes the generator, a BRN-208M7A voltage regulator and a BZU-376SB protection/control unit. Regulation supports the required output voltage, while protection and switching equipment supervise connection to the load. The drive supplies mechanical energy and maintains the operating speed needed for the electrical frequency. These are separate functions within the complete ground power installation.

Other electrical sources in the APA-50M

The APA-50M arrangement also includes GAO-36 DC machines and an SGO-30U single-phase generator. They serve other electrical outputs of the ground unit, whereas GT60PCH8ATV supplies its three-phase AC channel. The presence of several machines explains why the ground unit's complete electrical capability cannot be assigned to this one generator. Likewise, a particular aircraft's external power connection does not identify an onboard generator model.
