RI-65-13 magnetic-head linear commutator

RI-65-13 is the magnetic-head linear commutator installed inside the RI-65-10 voice-message apparatus of the RI-65B aircraft warning system. Its documented function is connect the selected one of 16 magnetic tracks and provide low-frequency preamplification. The unit is a specific functional assembly and is not a complete RI-65B set.

Role in the RI-65B warning sequence

RI-65B receives discrete signals from aircraft alarm sensors, selects a message by priority and reproduces the corresponding recorded warning for the crew. In the documented sequence, RI-65-12 selects the input, RI-65-11 transports the magnetic tape, RI-65-13 connects and preamplifies the selected track, and RI-65-14 provides final playback amplification. RI-65-13 performs its own stage in this chain.

Associated RI-65 equipment

The immediate parent apparatus is the RI-65-10 voice-message unit. System equipment also includes the RI-65-20 remote control and RI-65-30 matching amplifier. The published RI-65B installation is used on Mi-8MT/Mi-8MTV and Mi-17-family helicopters.

System-level technical data

The RI-65B system handles up to 16 messages, automatically repeats each message twice and completes a playback cycle in 10–12 seconds. The audio path covers 300–3400 Hz, and the equipment uses 27 V DC aircraft power. These are system-level values from the operating documentation; they must not be interpreted as separate output or consumption ratings of RI-65-13.

Inspection, compatibility and ordering

Inspect the boards or mechanism, plugs, contacts, fasteners, seals and complete marking. Compatibility requires the RI-65-10 execution, connector assignment and applicable modification standard. Bench testing must follow the RI-65 manual and exercise the complete message chain. State RI-65-13, parent apparatus, aircraft, quantity and documentation in the enquiry. Returns & Changes (Restocking Fee)
