BI-2AYU fire-warning executive unit
BI-2AYU is the executive unit of the SSP-2A aircraft fire-warning system. It receives low-level signals from grouped thermoelectric detectors, operates the internal relay channels and sends warning commands to the aircraft indication circuit. The unit detects and signals a fire condition through the SSP-2A chain; it is not the extinguishing-agent discharge controller.

SSP-2A channels and detector set
The standard technical description gives six independent channels, each serving a group of three DPS-1AG detectors, for a total of eighteen detectors per complete set. Detector group signals of approximately 28–65 mV operate the executive unit, and system response delay is stated as no more than one second. Actual detector quantity and grouping can differ by aircraft installation.
Aircraft application
SSP-2A installations with BI-2AYU are documented on the An-2, An-24, An-26 and An-30. An-26 documentation, for example, uses multiple BI-2AYU units to monitor detector groups around the engine nacelles. The aircraft fire-protection manual determines the number of blocks, detector grouping, warning lamps and connection to the extinguishing controls.
Construction and environmental data
The block contains six RPS-5 relays and three plug connectors. Overall dimensions are approximately 276 × 167.5 × 114 mm. Documented operating conditions include −60 to +70 °C, relative humidity up to 98%, low pressure down to 15 mmHg and vibration from 20 to 80 Hz at 0.8–2.3 g. BI-2AU and BI-2AYU are stated as interchangeable in the SSP-2A technical description.
Inspection and supply request
Inspect the enclosure, mounting, all connectors, contacts, relays, seals and plate, then test each channel with an approved detector simulator. A request should state BI-2AYU, aircraft type, SSP-2A configuration, quantity, condition, passport and delivery set. The related SSP-2I-RM is a separate system.
