Description

GA-192/2 electromagnetic valve for aircraft hydraulics

The GA-192/2 is an aircraft electromagnetic hydraulic valve used for remote switching of hydraulic circuits. It works as part of onboard hydraulic systems where fluid supply has to be controlled by an electrical command. The valve is not a pump and does not create pressure. Its task is to open or redirect the flow of AMG-10 hydraulic fluid to the connected hydraulic unit when the system requires it. In Mi-8 technical descriptions, GA-192/2 appears as a valve used in control-related hydraulic circuits, including the friction control circuit of the “collective-pitch / throttle” handle.

Hydraulic supply control through GA-192/2

In operation, GA-192/2 controls the delivery of hydraulic fluid to the connected unit or actuator. When voltage is applied to the electromagnet, the spool changes position and the hydraulic passage switches according to the system layout. This allows the aircraft system to engage a hydraulic unit without mechanical operation of the valve itself. For combined control modes, the valve can be used to supply fluid to the relevant control aggregate. The exact function depends on the aircraft type and the hydraulic diagram used on that aircraft.

GA-192/2 in control and auxiliary circuits

Inside the hydraulic system, the valve works with pressure lines, drain lines, fittings, actuators, control aggregates, switches, and aircraft wiring. If the connected mechanism does not operate correctly, the valve is only one possible cause. Maintenance checks normally include voltage at the connector, current consumption, spool movement, hydraulic pressure, drain line condition, fluid cleanliness, and the condition of the actuator or control aggregate. A stuck spool, bad contact, low pressure, or contaminated AMG-10 can all give similar symptoms.

Aircraft application of hydraulic valve GA-192/2

The GA-192/2 is used in hydraulic systems of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft where electrically actuated switching of hydraulic circuits is required. Listed applications include Mi-8 helicopters and An-8, An-12, An-24, An-26, Yak-40, and Tu-134 aircraft. Public Mi-8 technical references mention this valve in the hydraulic system, while Mi-171 maintenance references mention GA-192/2 in relation to combined operating mode of the control unit. Before replacement, the installation point and full designation should be checked against the aircraft parts catalog.

Identification and ordering checks for GA-192/2

Before ordering, the marking on the installed valve should be compared with the aircraft documentation. In English-language requests, the usual designation is GA-192/2. In Russian documentation, the same product is written as ГА-192/2. The GA-192 family includes related versions, so visual similarity is not enough for correct selection. A request should include the aircraft type, system location, full part number, and a photo of the marking if available. The product is also known under alternative designation ГА-192/2.
