Purpose of 6N23P
The 6N23P is a low-noise miniature double triode for broadband high-frequency amplification and frequency conversion. It is also used in low-power pulse generators and low-frequency preamplifier stages where two matched triode systems in one envelope are useful.

Construction and execution
The tube has a cylindrical glass envelope, nine-pin button base and two triode sections. Reference operating data list a 6.3 V heater, approximately 0.3 A heater current, 120 V anode voltage and about 15 mA anode current. The compact format suits densely assembled radio equipment.
Selection and installation
Selection requires the complete 6N23P designation and verification of socket wiring, heater circuit, bias and permissible electrode ratings. Versions with additional suffixes are separate executions and should not be treated as identical without documentation.
