Description
Purpose of 6D24N
The 6D24N is a miniature high-frequency vacuum diode used for accurate detection of RF and microwave voltage. It is designed for measurement input detectors and coaxial transitions in electronic voltmeters, where low capacitance and stable rectification at high frequency are important.

Construction and features
Unlike glass receiving valves, the 6D24N has a compact metal-ceramic body with rigid leads. Its maximum resonant wavelength is 5 cm. The anode-to-cathode capacitance is no more than 0.8 pF, while the cathode-to-heater capacitance is no more than 3 pF. The small body is approximately 10.1 mm in diameter and 15.1 mm high.
Selection and installation
The diode is selected by its complete designation and connection geometry. Before installation, verify the heater supply, detector circuit and mechanical arrangement against the measuring instrument documentation; a similar miniature package does not establish electrical compatibility.
