Purpose of 5Ts4S
The 5Ts4S is a dual-anode vacuum rectifier for full-wave conversion of alternating current in transformer power supplies. It is designed for industrial-frequency circuits and may also be used at frequencies up to 400 Hz when the limits specified for the equipment are observed.

Construction and features
The glass envelope contains two anode systems and an indirectly heated oxide cathode. An octal keyed base fixes the installation position: pins 2 and 8 are connected to the heater, pin 4 to the first anode and pin 6 to the second anode; the cathode is connected to pin 8. The valve may operate in any physical position.
Selection and installation
When replacing a rectifier, compare the complete 5Ts4S marking, base connections, heater supply and the current demanded by the power supply. The maximum average rectified current is 125 mA, so a visually similar valve should not be installed without checking the circuit.
