Description
Purpose of 5Ts4M
The 5Ts4M is a compact dual-anode rectifier valve for converting mains-frequency alternating current into direct current. It is intended for full-wave transformer power supplies in radio and electronic equipment. The two anodes share an indirectly heated oxide cathode.

Construction and features
The valve has a glass single-base construction and an octal Ts1-1-4V base. It may operate in any position. With a 2 × 400 V transformer secondary, the reference operating data specify a 3.3 kΩ anode-circuit resistance and a 4 µF filter capacitor. The compact envelope is limited to 92 mm in height and 33 mm in diameter.
Selection and installation
The 5Ts4M designation must be checked in full because similarly named rectifiers may differ in base wiring and permissible load. Before installation, confirm the heater circuit, transformer voltage and filter arrangement against the equipment documentation.
