5Ts3S
Dual-anode vacuum rectifier
Description
Purpose of 5Ts3S
The 5Ts3S is a full-wave vacuum rectifier used to convert alternating current into direct current in power supplies for radio and electronic equipment. Its two anodes work with the two halves of a centre-tapped transformer winding, while the common cathode supplies the rectified output to the smoothing filter.

Construction and features
The glass envelope makes the two symmetrical anode systems visible. The tube uses an octal keyed base, so the correct orientation is set by the guide on the central spigot. The 5Ts3S is also encountered under the designation 5C3S; the 5AS4 and 5U4G names are used as reference equivalents, but electrical and mechanical compatibility must be checked before substitution.
Selection and installation
Selection should be based on the complete marking, base wiring, heater supply and the limits of the original circuit. A valve with a similar outline is not automatically a suitable replacement.
The operating principle is outlined in the vacuum tube reference article. Other available types are listed in our receiving and amplifier tube category.
Ordering 5Ts3S
Minimum order: 200 pieces. When requesting a quotation, specify the complete designation and, where possible, the equipment in which the device will be installed.
More components are available in the receiving and amplifying tube category.
