GMI-7
Pulse modulator beam tetrode
Description
Purpose and application
GMI-7 is a glass pulse modulator beam tetrode for high-current switching in pulse modulators. It is selected by the complete designation because the execution suffix is significant.
Full descriptionCollapse description
Construction
The tube has a glass baseless envelope, an indirectly heated oxide cathode, a top anode contact and a multi-contact lower mounting section. Heater voltage is 23.5–28.5 V and current is 6.0 ± 0.4 A.
Operating data
Minimum pulse anode current is 52 A. Pulse first-grid current is no more than 9 A, pulse second-grid current no more than 10 A, and grid cutoff voltage no more than 900 V.
Cooling and selection
Natural or forced-air cooling may be used according to the installation. Mass is approximately 800 g and minimum service life is 1000 hours. The base, top contact and glass must be checked before installation.
Vacuum device construction is outlined in the vacuum tube article. Related products are listed under generator and modulator tubes.
