Description

Purpose and application

GMI-11 is a pulse modulator tetrode for switching high-voltage pulses in radio-transmitter modulator stages. It is intended for circuits where a powerful, short control pulse must be formed with repeatable electrical parameters.

Full descriptionCollapse description

Construction

The tube has a glass envelope, an indirectly heated cathode and a multi-electrode assembly. Heater voltage is 23.4–28.6 V and heater current is 1.75 ± 0.15 A. Correct socket wiring is essential because the device works with high pulse voltages.

Operating data

The pulse anode current is at least 14 A and remains at least 12 A at a heater voltage of 23.5 V. Input capacitance is 55 pF, output capacitance 7.5 pF, and transfer capacitance no more than 1 pF. Minimum service life is 300 hours.

Cooling and selection

The permitted ambient range is −60 to +85 °C, while the envelope temperature must remain below 250 °C. Before replacement, compare the complete GMI-11 marking, heater supply, grid bias and pulse conditions with the equipment documentation.

Vacuum device construction is outlined in the vacuum tube article. Related devices are listed under generator and modulator tubes.
