Purpose and application
GM-3B is a high-power modulator triode for amplifying low-frequency oscillations in cathode-coupled circuits. It is intended for stationary radio equipment and modulator stages.

Construction
The metal-glass tube has a large finned anode and terminal assembly above the insulating ring. Heater voltage is 6.0–6.6 V; starting heater current may reach 225 A.
Operating data
Reference limits include anode voltage up to 6 kV, anode dissipation up to 7.5 kW and grid dissipation up to 300 W. Typical transconductance is 22 ± 5 mA/V and gain factor 9 ± 2.
Cooling and selection
The anode requires forced-air cooling, with published data indicating approximately 800 m³/h. The tube is installed vertically; dimensions are up to 245 × 120 mm, mass up to 4 kg and minimum service life 2000 h.
