GK-9B is a high-power generator triode for generating and amplifying RF oscillations in stationary radio equipment. Published operating data specify useful RF output of at least 30 kW at a reference frequency of 2 MHz.

Construction
The metal-glass tube has a directly heated thoriated, carburised tungsten cathode and a large finned external anode. Heater voltage is 7.9–8.7 V; operating current is 120–150 A and starting current may reach 250 A.
Operating data
The tube measures no more than 338 mm in height and 218 mm in diameter; mass is no more than 12 kg. It operates vertically with the anode down. The exact socket, electrode connections and supply mode must match the equipment documentation.
Cooling and selection
Forced-air cooling is mandatory: airflow for the anode must be at least 1300 m³/h and for the stem at least 30 m³/h. Inspect the radiator fins, glass-metal seals and terminal plate before installation.
