Purpose and application

GI-7BT is a metal-ceramic generator triode for generating and amplifying decimetre-wave RF oscillations. It operates in continuous and pulse modes with anode modulation and is designed for common-grid circuits.

Construction

The defining feature of GI-7BT is its cylindrical finned radiator. The heater supply is 12.0–13.2 V and heater current is 1,925 ± 0,125 A. The tube weighs about 330 g and may be installed in any position.

Operating data

Reference limits include 2.5 kV continuous anode voltage, 9 kV pulse anode voltage, pulse anode current up to 7.5 A, pulse duration up to 10 µs and anode dissipation up to 350 W. The minimum operating wavelength is 9 cm.

Cooling and selection

The radiator requires forced airflow of at least 24 m³/h. GI-7BT must not be selected from appearance alone: compare its full suffix, cylindrical radiator, coaxial contacts and the circuit data stated by the equipment manufacturer.
