GI-50A is a high-power pulse generator triode for wideband RF power amplification. It is rated for pulse output up to 2 MW at frequencies up to 170 MHz and is used in large industrial and scientific high-frequency installations.

Construction and cooling
The tube has a metal-ceramic structure and a directly heated thoriated, carburised tungsten cathode. The anode uses forced water cooling, while the stem and envelope require forced-air cooling. The heater is rated at 13.7 V and 560 A.
Key operating data
Reference limits include a pulse anode voltage of 32 kV, anode dissipation of 40 kW and maximum frequency of 170 MHz. The component is approximately 420 mm high and 210 mm in diameter, with a mass near 18 kg.
Selection and pre-installation checks
GI-50A requires dedicated high-voltage, heater and cooling hardware. Before installation, verify the exact suffix, mounting flange, water circuit, air path and equipment manual. Handling and testing must follow procedures for high-voltage RF power tubes.
