Purpose and operating mode
GI-49B is a metal-ceramic pulse generator triode for generating and amplifying decimetre-wave oscillations. It supports continuous operation and pulse operation with cyclic switching of supply voltages in common-grid circuits.

Construction and cooling
The compact coaxial structure includes a finned anode cooling section and ceramic insulation. Forced-air cooling is required. The heater supply is 12.6 V with a current of 0.94 ± 0.08 A; mass is approximately 150 g.
Key operating data
Continuous useful RF output is at least 75 W. Published limits include an anode voltage of 1 kV in continuous service, up to 4 kV in pulse operation, pulse anode current up to 4 A and an operating wavelength range of 10–75 cm.
Selection and pre-installation checks
Selection requires the exact GI-49B marking, its coaxial contact dimensions and the intended cooling assembly. Before installation, inspect the ceramic waist, metal collars, cooling fins and terminal surfaces.
