GI-23B
Pulse generator triode
Description
Purpose and operating mode
The GI-23B is a pulse generator triode intended to generate and amplify high-frequency oscillations in the UHF band. It operates with pulse anode modulation and is built for radio-frequency stages where a compact metal-ceramic tube and forced cooling are required.
Full descriptionCollapse description
Construction and cooling
The metal-ceramic assembly includes a finned metal cooling section, ceramic insulation and rigid electrode terminals. Forced-air cooling of 24 m³/h is specified. The tube mass is approximately 380 g, and the governing specification is ST3.323.038 TU.
Key operating data
Published reference values include a heater current of 2.45 ± 0.15 A and minimum useful pulse power of 40 W. The input capacitance is 16 ± 2 pF, output capacitance no more than 0.16 pF and transfer capacitance 6 ± 0.5 pF.
Selection and pre-installation checks
Before installation, verify the complete GI-23B designation, ceramic condition, cooling path and terminal geometry. The operating circuit must be checked against the equipment documentation because related GI-series triodes can differ materially in frequency range, cooling and electrode connections.
General operating principles are described in the vacuum tube reference article. Other devices of this class are listed under generator and modulator tubes.
