Start Control Unit
Available on back-order
The APD-58A is an aircraft engine start automatic control unit designed for automated control of gas turbine engine start processes within onboard systems of helicopters and aircraft. The unit functions as a programmed control device integrated into the engine starting system architecture.
The device manages the sequence of activation of engine start system components, including starter operation, ignition systems, and fuel supply, ensuring execution of the start cycle according to a predefined timing program and automatic shutdown upon reaching required parameters or timeout conditions.
The unit is commonly used on helicopters of the Mi-8 family and on certain aircraft types, where it supports automated start of main engines or auxiliary power units within onboard systems.
The control unit operates in conjunction with onboard engine and electrical systems, controlling external contactors, ignition units, and fuel valves through programmed time sequences corresponding to start, cold rotation, and false start modes. The product is also known under alternative designations APD-58A and АПД-58А.
