DLUMM-5
Linear Acceleration Sensor
Description
DLUMM-5 microminiature linear acceleration sensor
DLUMM-5 is a microminiature linear acceleration sensor. It converts acceleration acting along its sensitive axis into a DC electrical signal. Output-voltage magnitude is proportional to acceleration, while signal polarity corresponds to the direction of the applied acceleration.
Exact execution identification is essential for DLUMM-5. The numerical suffix belongs to the designation and is used to match measuring range, sensitivity and calibration data. Adjacent versions may use a similar housing while producing a different signal for the same acceleration. The complete Part Number must therefore be retained in an inquiry and selection by appearance alone should be avoided.

Function in onboard measuring equipment
The sensor provides continuous linear-acceleration measurement and an analogue output for subsequent processing or recording. In aviation equipment the signal can be used by onboard measuring units and flight-parameter recording systems. The sensor is not a stand-alone indicator and requires the compatible measuring circuit.
A typical measuring chain includes the sensor, compatible excitation or supply, an input channel in the measuring or recording unit and the aircraft wiring. Reliable data depends on the sensing element as well as polarity, line resistance, shielding and receiver configuration. Cross-sells show other family ranges for navigation and do not confirm that those executions can replace DLUMM-5.
Aviation application of DLUMM-5
Open industry catalogues identify the DLUMM family as microminiature linear acceleration sensors for specialised and aviation equipment. The exact installation, measuring range and wiring are defined by the passport for the particular execution and by aircraft documentation. Specifications from another family version must not be transferred automatically.
Installation checks cover the sensitive-axis direction, body orientation, mounting surfaces and freedom from mechanical strain in the cable. Incorrect orientation changes the sign or projection of the measured acceleration, while loose mounting can introduce a local resonance. Connector pinout, tightening requirements and the installation drawing must match the DLUMM-5 passport and the documentation for the individual aircraft.
Designation and search variants
The primary designation is DLUMM-5. Search variants include DLUMM5; DLUMM 5; DLUM-5; DLUM5 and the original Cyrillic designation ДЛУММ-5. Other ranges, including DLUMM-20, are related family products but are not confirmed substitutes without technical documentation.
Functional inspection should use the specified measuring channel or an approved test bench. The check normally compares zero output, response direction, conversion scale and signal stability. Numerical acceptance limits from another DLUMM range must not be transferred to this execution. When the supplied unit lacks its passport, the required control values should be obtained before an installation decision is made.
Selection and ordering of DLUMM-5
An inquiry should state the complete designation, required range, connector, condition and passport requirement. The measuring principle is described in the general reference on accelerometers. More components are listed in the Aviamisto Sensors category. Internal links and cross-sells are navigation aids and do not establish interchangeability.
A useful inquiry identifies the aircraft or recording complex, full Part Number, required range, receiving equipment and the need for a passport or test report. The nameplate is then compared with the illustrated parts catalogue and system records. This procedure reduces the risk of ordering a visually similar sensor with a different calibration or electrical execution.
This card identifies DLUMM-5 as an individual aviation product and does not replace its passport, illustrated parts catalogue or maintenance manual. Before supply, the nameplate, condition, delivery scope, required documents and applicability to the individual aircraft or system should be agreed. When the marking, equipment record and inquiry contain different information, the approved documentation for the installed execution takes priority and any disputed parameter must be confirmed before ordering. Incoming-inspection results and traceability data should be retained with the supply documentation.
Related products are selected by common system or measured parameter. This grouping improves catalogue navigation but is not a list of approved replacements. Any substitution requires matching designation, electrical interface, mounting dimensions and range, together with explicit confirmation in the applicable maintenance documentation.
