Description
Purpose
SMNK 6-80-2 (Z, S, Zh) is an incandescent lamp intended for compact indication and local illumination in aircraft and electronic instruments. Its red SMNK, green SMNZ, blue SMNS and yellow SMNZh versions provides the required colored signal without an external filter. The exact designation matters because adjacent SM and SMK versions may use different bases, dimensions and electrical ratings.

Electrical rating
The nominal supply is 6 V; the stated rating is 80 mA. The published service-life value is 10,000 h. Luminous flux 0.2 lm for the red version. These are identification values for the specified version, not a basis for replacing another lamp that merely looks similar.
Construction
The lamp combines a tungsten filament, a colored glass envelope and a Flexible wire leads. Its dimensional description is: 3.2 mm diameter; 32 mm total length. The colored coating or colored glass is part of the optical function. Chips, deep scratches, discoloration, loose internal parts or damaged contacts are reasons to reject the lamp before installation.
Selection and installation
Before ordering, compare the full designation, nominal voltage, electrical rating, base and available installation space with the aircraft equipment documentation. Fit the lamp only with the circuit isolated. Do not force the base into an incompatible holder, and keep the glass clean. Similar-looking clear, mirrored and colored aircraft lamps are not automatically interchangeable.
