Which parameters define its operation?

A luminous flux of about 1 lm is sufficient for local indication and scale lighting. The 10,000-hour reference life makes this version useful in equipment designed for extended operating periods, provided the supply remains within the rated conditions. The electrical rating should be considered together with light output and operating duty. Overvoltage raises filament temperature and will normally shorten service life.

How is the lamp constructed and installed?

The glass part is approximately 7 mm long and 3.2 mm in diameter. Flexible leads increase the total length to about 27 mm and permit direct wiring. This layout must not be confused with SMN 6-80, which uses a special base. Before installation, compare bulb diameter, overall clearance and the exact connection method. The lamp must not be forced into an unsuitable holder, loaded through the glass envelope or fitted by changing the original mounting arrangement.
