Which parameters define its operation?

The lamp has been used as a small light source in photometric and laboratory instruments. Its 200-hour reference life is shorter than that of lower-current signal versions, which reflects the different operating purpose: useful light output is prioritised over long unattended service. The electrical rating should be considered together with light output and operating duty. Overvoltage raises filament temperature and will normally shorten service life.

How is the lamp constructed and installed?

A 3.2 mm bulb is connected through long flexible leads; the overall length is about 92 mm. The leads make it possible to position the lamp accurately in an optical assembly, but they do not define interchangeability with other 6 V lamps. Before installation, compare bulb diameter, overall clearance and the exact connection method. The lamp must not be forced into an unsuitable holder, loaded through the glass envelope or fitted by changing the original mounting arrangement.
