Aircraft installation

Light assembly versus lamp-light

FPK-250 and LFSM 27-250-1 are not two designations for the same product. The FPK-250 is the installed lighting assembly with housing, mounting and adjustment mechanism, whereas the LFSM 27-250-1 is the replaceable light source fitted inside it. An enquiry should state whether the complete assembly, the lamp-light alone or both items are required.

After installation, the beam is aimed at the inspection area defined by the aircraft documentation without creating distracting reflections from glazing or airframe surfaces. Optical condition and correct alignment directly affect the crew’s ability to identify ice on the illuminated surface.
