Description

Block 1P receiver-exciter for R-863 radio station

Block 1P / IZH2.022.006-02 is a receiver-exciter unit used as part of the R-863 onboard command VHF/UHF aircraft radio station. It may also be associated with R-862 radio station configurations where applicable by documentation. The unit is one of the main functional blocks of the radio station and participates in reception, frequency generation and preparation of the radio-frequency signal for transmission through the transmitter section.

Function of Block 1P in the R-863 system

Within the R-863 radio station, Block 1P performs receiver and exciter functions. In receive mode, it processes incoming radio signals from the selected operating channel and supports demodulation of received communication signals. In transmit mode, the block works as an exciter, generating the required high-frequency signal for further amplification by the transmitter / power amplifier section. The unit is therefore directly connected with both the receiving and transmitting paths of the radio station.

Frequency formation and operating ranges

Block 1P supports operation of the R-863 radio station in the VHF and UHF ranges. The unit is involved in forming the operating frequency grid used by the radio station. According to the R-863 system data, the radio station operates in the 100.000–149.975 MHz VHF range and 220.000–399.975 MHz UHF range with 25 kHz channel spacing. The total number of fixed communication channels is divided between the VHF and UHF ranges according to the radio station configuration.

Internal structure of Block 1P

The unit is built as a complex modular chassis containing functional subassemblies for frequency reference, frequency control, receiver high-frequency circuits, exciter functions, intermediate-frequency amplification and low-frequency amplification. Depending on modification, the unit may also include an emergency receiver subassembly for standby reception on emergency frequencies. Exact internal subblock configuration should be confirmed by the technical description, repair documentation and the specific unit passport.

Installation of Block 1P on aircraft and helicopters

The R-863 radio station is remotely controlled, so the receiver-exciter and other radio blocks are installed separately from the cockpit control panel. Block 1P is installed inside the main radio equipment assembly or transceiver structure and is mounted on the aircraft radio equipment rack or shock-mounted frame according to aircraft documentation. Typical application may include Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-24 and other Mi-family helicopters, as well as transport and military aircraft equipped with compatible R-863 / R-862 command radio stations.

Identification and ordering of Block 1P

The product may be referenced as Block 1P, Блок 1П, IZH2.022.006-02, ИЖ2.022.006-02 or ЯДИЖ2.022.006-02. These designations refer to the receiver-exciter unit used in the R-863 radio station system. For correct supply, it is useful to specify the required radio station version, aircraft type, unit modification, connector configuration, condition, documentation requirements and whether the block is required as a standalone spare part or as part of a complete R-863 radio station set.
