Description

Primary transducer D-2MM for tachometer systems

The D-2MM is a primary tachometer transducer used to convert shaft rotation speed into an electromotive force. It works as a small three-phase AC generator with a permanent-magnet rotor. The transducer is installed on the drive of the monitored object and sends its signal to the connected indicating instruments. The D-2MM does not display speed by itself. It is the sensing and signal-generating part of the tachometer system.

Signal generation through D-2MM

During operation, shaft rotation is transmitted to the D-2MM rotor through a mechanical tailpiece. As the rotor turns, the transducer generates a three-phase alternating signal. The frequency of this signal corresponds to the speed of the controlled shaft. The indicating instruments then convert the electrical signal into pointer movement. This measurement method is used in tachometer systems where the instrument must show rotational speed without a direct mechanical linkage to the panel.

D-2MM in the TMi1M tachometer set

The D-2MM primary transducer works together with indicating instruments as part of the TMi1M tachometer. Unlike the D-1M version, the D-2MM is intended for connection with two indicating instruments. This is useful where the same shaft speed must be shown at more than one panel or station. Same-type primary transducers and indicators are interchangeable within the approved tachometer configuration, but the actual system layout should still be checked before replacement.

Installation and drive connection of D-2MM

The D-2MM tachometer sensor is attached to the object drive by a four-lug flange. Rotation is transmitted from the drive shaft to the transducer rotor through a tailpiece inserted into the rotor bushing and secured by the square end and lock. A seal is installed between the rotor bushing and the tailpiece to prevent lubricant from entering the internal cavity of the transducer. This part of the installation should be inspected carefully during removal or replacement.

Identification and ordering of D-2MM

Before ordering D-2MM, the marking should be compared with the tachometer documentation, equipment parts catalog and installed indicator type. It is important to confirm whether the request is for the primary transducer only or for a tachometer set with indicators. For correct selection, provide the equipment type, tachometer system designation, climatic version and a photo of the nameplate if available. The product is also known under alternative designations D-2MM, D 2MM, D2MM, D 2 MM, D-2-MM, d-2mm, d 2mm, d2mm and Д-2ММ.
