GSR-ST-6000A field-winding arrangement

The factory configuration has both shunt and series field windings. A shunt winding forms a parallel excitation circuit, while a series winding carries current in the corresponding series circuit. Their combination is relevant to the magnetic field and torque characteristics of a starter-generator. These windings are part of the machine itself; external regulation and switching equipment perform separate functions in the installed power system.

Generator duty and DC output

In generator mode, the unit supplies DC electrical power. Its listed voltage, current and power are separate catalogue ratings; the power unit is kW, not kVA. Shaft speed is given as a range because the machine operates with a mechanical drive whose speed varies. The stated generator voltage should not be read as a complete specification for starting power, since starter duty has its own electrical and time limits.

Dimensions and mechanical integration

The mechanical reference specifies an overall diameter of 166 mm, a length of 285 mm and a mass of 20.3 kg. These values describe the installation envelope and handling load of the unit. The drive transfers mechanical energy in opposite functional directions during starting and generation. Mounting details, the shaft connection and terminal arrangement must correspond to the particular installation; the envelope dimensions alone do not establish interchangeability.
