GSR-18000M is documented on the Tupolev Tu-95 family, where eight generators—two per engine—feed the primary DC buses in parallel with 12SAM-55 batteries as emergency sources. A Tupolev Tu-128 description lists one generator per engine working in parallel with 12SAM-23 batteries. Two units are also documented on each RD-3M-500 engine installation.
Electrical-system context
The generator supplies the main DC network; it is not the same device as the SGO-series AC generators or PO/PT rotary converters used elsewhere in the same aircraft.
