The COM section allows the crew to prepare a standby frequency and transfer it to active use. System testing should include receiver sensitivity, transmitter power and frequency, modulation, squelch, display and transfer operation, VOR bearing, localizer deviation, flags, lighting and all approved outputs. A functional display alone does not establish radio-frequency performance.
