Altitude scale and cockpit indications

The displayed range is 0 to 2,000 feet above ground level. Aircraft documentation describes scale increments of 5 feet from 0 to 200 feet, 20 feet from 200 to 500 feet and 100 feet from 500 to 2,000 feet. This nonlinear presentation concentrates detail in the low-altitude region used during approach, hover and terrain-clearance monitoring. The orange pointer shows measured radar altitude.

A movable decision-height marker is set from the front knob. The yellow DH annunciator supports the associated warning function when the aircraft descends through the selected reference in a correctly wired system. A flag or invalid indication warns that reliable altitude information is not available or appears during the applicable test condition. Flight crews must interpret these indications under the approved aircraft procedures.

The 066-3044-04 suffix is specifically the black-faceplate NVG-lighted version. Standard 5-volt, 28-volt, gray-faceplate and other lighting variants have different suffixes and should not be substituted by appearance.
