Pitch-command path through the servo

During an engaged pitch mode, aircraft sensors provide information to the autopilot computer. The computer compares the selected condition with the sensed response and commands the pitch servo in the required direction. The KS 270A motor and transmission move the connected cable, chain or linkage so the aircraft pitch control responds. Disconnect logic releases the system according to the approved installation design.

The functional chain can be summarized as aircraft sensors and pilot mode selection → autopilot computer → KS 270A pitch servo → aircraft pitch-control linkage. Some installations also employ a separate electric trim servo to reduce sustained control forces.
