BI16-2
SPUT-4-1 Fuel Measurement Unit
Description
BI16-2 fuel measurement unit
BI16-2 is an aircraft measurement unit used within the SPUT-4-1 programmed fuel-management and fuel-quantity system. The correct part designation is BI16-2; SPUT-4-1 identifies the installed system rather than forming part of the unit part number. Published Il-76 maintenance material lists BI16-1 and BI16-2 as measurement blocks of SPUT-4-1, while customs nomenclature identifies BI16-2 as a component of an onboard fuel measuring and monitoring system.

BI16-2 in the SPUT-4-1 system
On the Ilyushin Il-76, SPUT-4-1 supports programmed fuel control, tank quantity measurement, crew indication and signals used during fuelling and fuel transfer. BI16-2 belongs to the measurement chain and works with other system units, tank sensors, indicators and aircraft wiring. Its presence in that chain does not make it interchangeable with BI16-1 or with a similarly named measurement block.
Interfaces and related SPUT-4-1 equipment
The related BI16-1 and BPS1-1A are catalogued separately. BI16-1 is another measurement block, while BPS1-1A is identified as a sum-conversion block. System position, sensor circuits, connectors, calibration and output routing must be checked against the SPUT-4-1 diagram and the exact BI16-2 passport; membership in one system is not proof of direct substitution.
BI16-2 technical verification
Open sources confirm the product class, system and Il-76 context but do not publish a dependable standalone pinout, supply limits, measurement range, dimensions or mass for the exact BI16-2 execution. Those values must come from the product passport, equipment list and approved maintenance documentation. Data from BI16-1, BI12-2 or another fuel-measurement system must not be copied by similarity.
Inspection and ordering BI16-2
Before installation, compare the complete nameplate, connector keys, contacts, mounting points, seals and any drawing or execution number. A functional check should use the applicable SPUT-4-1 test procedure and compatible sensor simulation rather than a simple power-on test. An enquiry should state BI16-2, the SPUT-4-1 execution, aircraft modification, quantity and documentation requirements. Related units are listed under Electronic Control Units.
