BSR-31 signal interface and distribution unit
BSR-31 is an aircraft signal interface and information-distribution unit in the MiG-29 onboard targeting and navigation complex. This identification corrects the false match with an industrial BSR-31 resistor bank used on mine locomotives. None of the 250 V, 11.1 kW or 43 kg resistor-bank data belongs to the aviation BSR-31.

Role in the OEPnK-29 complex
The technical description of the MiG-29 identifies BSR-31 as the unit that connects the optoelectronic targeting and navigation complex with other aircraft systems. It switches signals and commands and converts them by type and scale so that the cooperating analogue and digital devices can exchange usable information. The processing core of the wider complex is the S-31 onboard computer.
Associated MiG-29 equipment
The documented MiG-29 installation works with the S-31 computer, UVV20-31 input/output unit, BDLU-31 linear-acceleration sensors, BDUS-31 angular-rate sensors, SEI indication equipment, OEPs-29 optoelectronic sighting system and FKP-EU photo-control device. BSR-31 is mounted and interconnected through the RM-31 rack described for this equipment group.
Identification and compatibility
Order the aircraft unit by the full BSR-31 / БСР-31 marking and, where available, its drawing and assembly number. Do not use the electrical or dimensional data of industrial resistor blocks with the same abbreviation. Compatibility is established through the MiG-29 equipment records, connector configuration and the documentation for the installed OEPnK-29 execution.
Inspection and ordering
Inspect the enclosure, rack interfaces, connectors, seals and plate before bench testing. The functional test must reproduce the prescribed inputs and outputs of the aircraft complex.
