BKK-45 navigation switching unit

BKK-45 is a switching unit of the NK-45 navigation complex. Aircraft-system descriptions explicitly list BKK-45 switching blocks among the components installed on the Tupolev Tu-22M. The unit belongs to the interconnection and command-distribution part of the complex; it is not the Orbita computer, an inertial platform or a cockpit navigation display.

NK-45 system context

The documented NK-45 installation combines MIS-45, the Rumb-1A attitude-and-heading system, the Orbita-10TS-45 computer, BKK-45 units and control panels. It interfaces with RSBN-PKV, DISS-7, A-711/A-713/A-312 equipment, landing aids and radio altimeters. This establishes a Tu-22M context, while the exact quantity and execution depend on aircraft modification.

Identification and selection

The number 45 is part of the system identity and must not be confused with BK-45 or BKK units from other equipment. Compare the original БКК-45 marking, drawing number, connector layout, mounting and the NK-45 wiring documentation. A matching enclosure is not enough to establish compatibility, and no direct substitute should be claimed without an approved interchangeability record.

Inspection and ordering

Inspect the case, connector contacts and keys, mounting points, seals and identification plate. Functional testing requires a known NK-45 interface and approved procedure; individual circuits must not be powered from assumptions. NK-45 descriptions show that the navigation complex exchanges data with radio-navigation, Doppler, attitude-and-heading, air-data and landing equipment.
