BCU-8 (BTsU-8)

Function in the SUO-T8-A system

BCU-8 belongs to the target-designation and signal-control chain of the SUO-T8-A system. It operates as one element of a distributed equipment set rather than as a standalone sight or weapon controller. The system supports the armament-control functions of the Sukhoi Su-25; the exact aircraft modification and system execution must be matched.

Associated Su-25 equipment

The documented SUO-T8-A set also contains BS-8-1 and BS-8-2 interface units, BUP-8-1 and BUP-8-2 launch-control blocks, BAK-8 automation block, BKU-8 switching unit, BA-8, BAP-8, BUS-8 units and operator panels. The related BTsU-T8-54 block must be treated as a separate execution until matching documentation proves otherwise.

Installation and identification

The SUO control blocks are documented on a mounting frame in the forward landing-gear bay of the Su-25. Selection requires the full marking БЦУ-8, drawing and series, connector keying and the installed SUO-T8-A configuration. The public material confirms the system role and location but does not provide trustworthy standalone voltage, pinout, dimensions or mass.

Inspection, testing and ordering

Inspect the housing, mounting interface, connectors, contacts, seals and complete data plate. Functional testing must reproduce the SUO-T8-A signal environment and should not be replaced by an isolated power check.
