Description

UG-97/7 Hydraulic shuttle valve

UG-97/7 is a hydraulic shuttle valve that automatically connects wheel brakes to the main or emergency braking network when either pressure source is activated. The unit is an independent functional component of the applicable onboard system. Selection should be based on the complete designation, working medium, setting and installation diagram rather than appearance alone.

Operating principle of UG-97/7

Pressure arriving from either inlet displaces the internal shuttle, closes the opposite inlet and connects the active network to the common outlet. This automatic selection prevents one brake-pressure source from discharging into the other. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.

Role in the aircraft system

An-24 / An-26 wheel-braking system; technical documentation places two UG-97/7 valves in the main landing-gear wheel-well area for main/emergency brake selection. The valve works with pipelines, a pressure source, downstream equipment and the control elements of its circuit. These products are functionally related but must not be described as interchangeable merely because they operate in the same system.

Installation and maintenance checks

Before installation, verify the nameplate, ports, flow direction, internal cleanliness and seal condition. Working pressure, temperature, fluid and the prescribed functional test must come from the passport and maintenance documentation. Adjustment without approved instructions is not permitted. Incoming-inspection results should remain with the product records.

Identifying UG-97/7 for ordering

Verify the complete UG-97/7 marking and the three port assignments. Other UG-97 suffixes and UG97-8 are related executions, not automatic substitutes. Other related products are listed in the valves category. An enquiry should state the complete designation, execution, condition, delivery set and required supporting documents.
