Operating function of RD20A-2
The valve is installed between the pump delivery line and the common pressure line. As downstream pressure falls, it progressively closes; at the documented threshold it isolates general consumers while preserving pressure for services connected upstream in the spoiler circuit. Reliable operation depends on clean working media, serviceable seals, correctly connected lines and a calibrated configuration that matches the technical documentation.
Role in the aircraft system
The Il-76 maintenance manual specifies AMG-10 as the working fluid, 210 kgf/cm² nominal pressure and a nominal closing threshold of about 150 kgf/cm² with a lower tolerance of 10 kgf/cm². Ambient and fluid operating temperatures are −60 to +100 °C. Connected units form one operating circuit, but each performs a separate task and must not be presented as interchangeable merely because it is installed in the same system.

RD20A-2 is documented in the hydraulic system of the Il-76 family, including the spoiler pressure-line arrangement.
