Operating principle of RD-58
System pressure acts on the sensing element against the calibrated spring force. When the set value is exceeded, the valve opens a relief path; after pressure decreases, the element returns toward the closed position. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.
Role in the aircraft system
Aircraft hydraulic system. Public technical literature confirms RD-58 family safety valves, but the exact base execution, set pressure and aircraft application require its passport. The valve works with pipelines, a pressure source, downstream equipment and the control elements of its circuit.
