KR-6 Double-cavity hydraulic lock with thermal valves
KR-6 is a double-cavity hydraulic lock with thermal valves that locks working fluid in both cavities of a power cylinder when supply pressure stops and protects the cylinder against thermal pressure rise. The unit is an independent functional component of the applicable onboard system. Selection should be based on the complete designation, working medium, setting and installation diagram rather than appearance alone.

Operating principle of KR-6
Check-valve elements hold both actuator lines closed without pilot pressure. When control pressure is supplied, the required path opens for cylinder movement; integrated thermal valves relieve expansion pressure above their setting. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.
Role in the aircraft system
High-pressure hydraulic power-cylinder circuits in aviation and compatible special-purpose equipment. The exact actuator and installation geometry require the system drawing. The valve works with pipelines, a pressure source, downstream equipment and the control elements of its circuit. These products are functionally related but must not be described as interchangeable merely because they operate in the same system.
Installation and maintenance checks
Before installation, verify the nameplate, ports, flow direction, internal cleanliness and seal condition.
