GA-165 Two-position solenoid hydraulic valve

GA-165 is a two-position solenoid hydraulic valve that connects or isolates hydraulic supply to aircraft actuators and can couple a standby pressure source to a working circuit. The unit is an independent functional component of the applicable onboard system. Selection should be based on the complete designation, working medium, setting and installation diagram rather than appearance alone.

Operating principle of GA-165

An electrical command energizes the solenoid and moves the pilot element. Hydraulic pressure then shifts the main valve member to connect or isolate the specified circuit; end-position control depends on the exact execution and aircraft wiring. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.

Role in the aircraft system

Aircraft hydraulic systems.
