Operating principle of GA-158
A solenoid-operated ball pilot changes pressure acting on the main spool. The spool then moves and redirects the working-fluid flow between the connected lines, providing two defined hydraulic positions. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.
