GA-109
hydraulic lock
Description
GA-109 Hydraulic lock with thermal relief valve
GA-109 is a hydraulic lock with thermal relief valve that locks fluid in an actuator cavity when supply and control pressure are absent and relieves thermal overpressure. The unit is an independent functional component of the applicable onboard system. Selection should be based on the complete designation, working medium, setting and installation diagram rather than appearance alone.

Operating principle of GA-109
The check element admits flow toward the actuator and blocks reverse flow after pressure is removed. Control pressure releases the lock when commanded, while the built-in thermal valve protects the isolated cavity from fluid expansion. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.
Role in the aircraft system
Aircraft hydraulic actuator holding circuits where a load must remain fixed after supply pressure is removed. Exact aircraft and cylinder position must be confirmed by the illustrated parts catalogue. The valve works with pipelines, a pressure source, downstream equipment and the control elements of its circuit. These products are functionally related but must not be described as interchangeable merely because they operate in the same system.
Installation and maintenance checks
Before installation, verify the nameplate, ports, flow direction, internal cleanliness and seal condition. Working pressure, temperature, fluid and the prescribed functional test must come from the passport and maintenance documentation. Adjustment without approved instructions is not permitted. Incoming-inspection results should remain with the product records.
Identifying GA-109 for ordering
Confirm GA-109, AMG-10 compatibility, 21 MPa class, port threads and control-line arrangement. GA-111 variants have different flow, mass and connection data. Other related products are listed in the valves category. An enquiry should state the complete designation, execution, condition, delivery set and required supporting documents.
