Operating principle of 5657T
Inlet pressure acts against the calibrated spring. At the setting the closing member lifts and discharges air; after pressure falls it returns to the seat. Closed-valve leakage is limited by the sealing condition. Reliable operation depends on clean working fluid, the moving element, seat, springs and seals. Contamination, reversed connections or an unsuitable pressure can prevent the intended response.
