AZZ-40
Aircraft Circuit Breaker
Description
AZZ-40: 40 A three-pole aircraft circuit breaker
AZZ-40 is the 40 A execution of the AZZ three-pole aircraft circuit-breaker family for three-phase AC feeders. Its original Cyrillic designation is АЗЗ-40. The mechanically linked poles disconnect the protected three-phase circuit when the release mechanism operates and provide common manual switching through the front lever.

Construction
The construction uses a characteristic reddish-brown molded insulating body, metal front plate, short control lever and three aligned power lugs. Confirm the physical 40 A marking and complete designation on the supplied unit.
Three protected poles and common actuation are the primary external identification features. Terminal layout, panel opening, mounting holes and lever travel must match the approved drawing. Related versions: AZZ-10 and AZZ-20.
Interruption data
OST 1 00195-76 provides interruption data for AZZ circuit breakers in a 210 V, 400 Hz AC network with circuit power factor 0.3–0.5 and the stated low-pressure and temperature conditions. For AZZ-40, the listed permissible prospective short-circuit values are 2500 A peak and 1400 A periodic component, with a minimum operating time of 0.005 s.
These test values identify the current execution but do not replace the time-current curve, trip calibration, conductor sizing, terminal torque, phase coordination or individual passport. Selection must also account for the actual network voltage, frequency, prospective fault current and installation altitude.
Inspection and inquiry
Inspect the molded body, front plate, lever, three pole sections, lugs, threaded holes and fasteners for cracking, tracking, overheating, corrosion, looseness or unspecified repair. Record pole continuity, common lever travel and insulation condition during receiving inspection. Wikipedia provides general context on circuit breakers. Browse Aviamisto’s Circuit Breakers category. State AZZ-40 / АЗЗ-40, quantity and required documentation in the inquiry.
