Description

AZK3-3 in aircraft electrical protection

AZK3-3 is an aircraft circuit breaker used in aircraft power-distribution and circuit-protection arrangements. The execution must be selected by more than current rating alone: the complete designation, network type, number of protected poles, control-member design, terminals and mounting interface all matter. Two breakers with a similar body or the same ampere value are not necessarily interchangeable because their trip curves and approved installation can differ.

The Latin search designation AZK3-3 corresponds to the original Cyrillic marking АЗК3-3. Every suffix must remain in an inquiry. A suffix may distinguish sealing, illumination, control-handle configuration, number of circuits or another construction feature. Its exact meaning and applicability must be confirmed against the passport for the requested execution rather than inferred from appearance.

Operating function and protection principle

The primary operating role is thermal release with trip-free action. During normal operation current passes through the breaker contacts to the protected consumer. An unacceptable overload or fault causes the protective mechanism to open the circuit and isolate the affected feeder. Where the family uses trip-free action, restraining the control member in the ON position must not prevent an automatic trip.

The designation AZK3-3 identifies a 3 A execution. The family configuration is described as “Three-pole push-button circuit breaker” for three-phase ac, 200 v line / 115 v phase, 400 hz. These are family-level identification data, not a substitute for the product passport. Voltage tolerances, time-current curve, breaking capacity and installation limits must be verified for the exact unit.

Aircraft installation and applicability

Aircraft circuit breakers are installed on breaker panels, distribution boards, feeder circuits and control lines supplying instruments, actuators, lighting and auxiliary equipment. The general architecture is described in the reference on aircraft electrical systems. The applicable aircraft or helicopter model is determined by the wiring diagram, illustrated parts catalogue, modification status and approved maintenance documentation for the individual airframe.

Related products in the same functional group include AZK3-2, AZK3-4, AZK3-1. They are presented for navigation and comparison only; they do not establish interchangeability. Adjacent current ratings have different settings, while suffixed versions may use different terminals, mounting geometry, sealing or cockpit-illumination execution.

Family-selection boundaries

A family name helps locate a product, but final selection is performed at complete-part-number level. Rated current must match the protected conductor and consumer, while the pole count must match the supply diagram. Current type, working voltage, AC frequency, time-current characteristic, climatic execution and sealing also require confirmation. When an inquiry provides only an abbreviated marking or a panel photograph, the breaker nameplate or the applicable illustrated-parts-catalogue position should be obtained before supply is approved.

Inspection and maintenance considerations

Before installation, maintenance personnel should verify the nameplate, housing, terminals and mounting hardware and check for overheating, mechanical damage, contamination or corrosion. Electrical inspection follows approved documentation and may include contact resistance, insulation and trip-performance checks at specified current levels. Adjustment using data from a different rating is not acceptable. After installation, correct terminal torque and absence of abnormal heating under load must be confirmed.

Identifying and ordering AZK3-3

An inquiry should state the complete AZK3-3 / АЗК3-3 designation, rating, aircraft type, requested condition, quantity and passport requirement. More products are listed in the Circuit Breakers category. Supply is matched to the actual marking and documentation; condition, year, completeness and lead time must not be inferred from a photograph or a similar family name.
