ITE-2TB tachometer indicator
ITE-2TB provides continuous remote measurement and pointer indication of an aircraft engine or transmission shaft speed. The reading is expressed as a percentage of the established maximum speed, allowing the crew to monitor operating mode without converting the indication into the rotor’s actual revolutions per minute.
The instrument has two pointers and two measuring systems, allowing simultaneous indication for two engines or two monitored shafts when connected in the approved configuration. ITE-family indicators are used in aircraft engine and transmission speed-monitoring systems. The exact engine, generator and drive ratio are determined by the documentation for the particular aircraft installation.

Remote tachometer operating principle
A tachometer generator converts drive-shaft rotation into a three-phase electrical signal whose frequency is proportional to speed. Inside the indicator, this signal produces a rotating magnetic field. The magneto-inductive measuring mechanism then converts rotational velocity into pointer displacement.
ITE-2TB and ITE-2TB2 receive a remote electrical signal from compatible tachometer generators. The exact generator and drive ratio cannot be selected from the scale range alone and must be matched to the engine wiring and set passport. Cable routing, phase connection and the mechanical drive ratio are parts of the measuring channel and must match the approved installation documentation.
ITE-2TB scale and operating data
Published manufacturer data for the ITE-2TB family confirm a 10–110% indication range, a 60–100% working range and ±0.5% error within that working range. ITE-2TB and ITE-2TB2 executions use integral white dial lighting; the electrical lighting specification must be checked for the exact series.
Indication accuracy is checked with the generator on a tachometer test unit or against a reference frequency. Before installation, inspect pointer movement and zero, the dial, connector, housing and lighting. A similar appearance between ITE variants does not establish identical calibration or electrical compatibility.
Identification and ordering
An inquiry should state the exact ITE-2TB designation, dial execution, range, lighting type, associated generator and aircraft. TB, TB1 and TB2 suffixes identify separate executions and must not be treated as interchangeable without supporting documentation.
