Gyro rate sensor set
The DUS-1209G/E/K set is a complete three-axis angular-rate sensor suite used in the AP-34B automatic flight control system installed on Mi-8/Mi-17 helicopter variants including Mi-8T, Mi-8MT, Mi-8AMT, Mi-8MTV-1 and Mi-17.
The set includes three dedicated gyro sensors:
• DUS-1209G — roll-rate sensor (bank axis)
• DUS-1209E — pitch-rate sensor (longitudinal axis)
• DUS-1209K — yaw-rate sensor (heading axis)
Together, these sensors measure angular rates around all three primary axes and convert motion into electrical feedback signals used by the AP-34B autopilot.
Their combined function ensures real-time stabilization, oscillation damping, directional control authority and reduced pilot workload during hover, climb, descent, cruise and maneuvering.
The sensors interface with channel amplifiers, control processing units and autopilot execution drives, providing closed-loop feedback for roll, pitch and yaw stabilization.
Each unit is powered from the onboard 36-V three-phase AC network and is designed for stable operation under aircraft vibration and environmental conditions.
Alternate Designations:
May appear as:
DUS-1209G, DUS-1209E, DUS-1209K, DUS1209G/E/K, DUS-1209-G/E/K, ДУС-1209Г/Е/К, ДУС1209
Purpose: Three-axis angular-rate measurement for automatic flight stabilization
Systems: AP-34B automatic flight control (roll, pitch and yaw channels)
Application: Mi-8, Mi-8T, Mi-8MT, Mi-8AMT, Mi-8MTV-1, Mi-17
Product Type: Gyro rate sensor set (G + E + K)
Axes Covered: Roll (G), Pitch (E), Yaw (K)
Power Supply: 36–40.5 V AC, 400 ±8 Hz (each unit)
Current Consumption: ≤0.5 A for G, ≤0.1–0.5 A for E/K
Output Signal: Proportional to ±angular rate (sensor-dependent)
Weight: Typically ≤1 kg per sensor
Category: Aviation Technical Equipment (ATE)
Condition: As applicable
Documentation: Manufacturer passports provided per unit
