M51102-1 is a microwave transmitting module with electrical frequency tuning designed to generate frequency-modulated microwave (SHF) oscillations. The module is intended for operation as part of airborne radio altimeter equipment.

The M51102-1 module is used as a microwave signal source in the transmitter section of radio altimeter systems. Frequency modulation of the generated microwave signal is achieved by electrical tuning, controlled by an external tuning voltage applied to the tuning diode. The electrical frequency tuning provides operation within the specified tuning range defined by the technical conditions.

The module is installed as part of the A-037 radio altimeter, where it performs the function of microwave signal generation for subsequent radiation and processing of the reflected signal. In addition, the M51102-1 module is also used in the PP-5M receiver, where it operates as part of the microwave signal path of the equipment.

Structurally, the module is manufactured in a shielded metal housing and incorporates a microwave oscillator, electrical frequency tuning elements, modulation circuitry, and output matching circuits. The design ensures stable electrical characteristics under specified operating conditions.

Operation of the M51102-1 module is permitted only in compliance with the requirements of the applicable technical specifications and operating instructions specified in the product passport. Reliability and service life parameters are defined by Technical Conditions BSh2.210.141TU.
