The cabin air flow indicator URVK-18k is designed to measure the amount of air entering the sealed cabin of the aircraft from the aircraft engine. The principle of operation of the URVK-18k is based on measuring the pressure difference in the wide and narrow parts of the Venturi tube. When air flows through the venturi, the pressure in its wide part will always be greater than in the narrow one. In this case, a difference in air pressure arises, which is measured by a manometric box. When the air pressure in the narrow part of the Venturi tube changes, the deflection of the aneroid block 9 changes. The angle of rotation of the axis 8 depends on two quantities: the difference between the pressures in the wide and narrow parts of the Venturi tube and the air pressure in its narrow part. In this case, the gauge box and the block of aneroid boxes reciprocate and through the transmission mechanism act on the arrow-5, which on the scale 6 indicates the weight flow rate of air entering the sealed cabin of the aircraft, in conventional units. The amount of air taken from the two engines is up to 1400 kg / h.
1. The gauge consists of a sealed housing which has two fittings:
– dynamic – for connecting the device to a wide section of 1 Venturi tube,
– static – for connecting the device to a narrow section of 2 Venturi tubes;
2. The sensitive element of the device is a manometric box 4, which acts on the pointer through the transmission mechanism;
3. The scale of the device is calibrated in conventional units from 1 to 10 with digitization through 1 conventional unit and a division price of 0.2 conventional units;
4. A block of aneroid boxes is installed in the body of the device, which automatically introduces a correction for changes in atmospheric pressure in the pipeline with an ascent to the height;
5. In flight, the normal air flow rate from one aircraft engine should be 3.0-3.5 conventional units, and where there is an automatic control of the air conditioning system, 3.5-4.5 conventional units;
6. A short-term deviation of the air flow rate up to 1 unit from the indicated values is allowed.
