The UA28A-14 is an aircraft inertial sensor designed to detect wheel slip during aircraft braking operations. The sensor is part of the aircraft anti-skid braking system and generates an electrical signal when rapid wheel deceleration indicates the onset of a skid condition.
The UA28A-14 operates within aircraft landing gear braking systems and is installed in the wheel hub assembly. The sensor monitors wheel rotational dynamics and transmits signals to the braking control system to prevent wheel lock and ensure stable braking during landing and taxiing.
The UA28A-14 inertial sensor operates using a mechanical flywheel installed inside the sensor housing. When the wheel experiences rapid deceleration during braking, the inertial flywheel rotates relative to the sensor body and activates an internal microswitch, generating a signal that triggers the electrohydraulic brake release valve.
The UA28A-14 sensor is used in aircraft anti-skid braking systems installed on aircraft such as An-24, An-26 and L-410. In standard configurations the UA28A-14 sensor is installed on the right landing gear wheel, while the UA28A-13 sensor is installed on the left wheel.
Alternative designations: UA28A-14, УА28А-14 — refer to the same product type.
