Inductive Pressure Sensor
Available on back-order
The ID-3 is an inductive pressure sensor used for remote measurement of overpressure in aircraft and industrial monitoring systems. It is suitable for operation with neutral liquids, gases, oils and non-flammable hydraulic fluids. The sensor is installed in pressure measurement circuits and transmits pressure-related information to compatible indicators. It is not a local dial gauge; its purpose is to convert pressure into an electrical signal that can be displayed remotely in the cockpit, control panel or monitoring station.
The ID-3 works on an inductive measuring principle. Pressure acts on a diaphragm inside the sensor, and this movement shifts a core in relation to electromagnetic coils. As the core position changes, the inductance of the measuring circuit changes as well. This change is proportional to the applied pressure and is used by the connected indicator to show the measured value. The design is practical for systems where the pressure point and the display location are separated by distance or installation layout.
The ID-3 sensor can be used in aircraft pressure monitoring systems and in industrial equipment where remote indication of pressure is required. Its operating temperature range allows use in demanding environments, including systems exposed to low temperatures and elevated ambient conditions. In aviation applications, such sensors are typically used where pressure must be monitored without placing the indicator directly at the measurement point. In industrial use, the same principle applies to hydraulic, oil, gas or neutral-fluid circuits.
The ID-3 operates together with compatible electromechanical indicators, including UI-1, UI-2 and similar display devices. The sensor requires a defined AC power supply and produces a signal matched to the receiving indicator circuit. For correct operation, the sensor and indicator must be compatible by electrical characteristics, pressure range and system wiring. If an incorrect indicator is connected, the measurement may be inaccurate or the circuit may fail to operate properly. Compatibility should therefore be checked before replacement or installation.
The ID-3 is installed in pressure measurement circuits where the working medium is compatible with the sensor materials and design. It is intended for neutral liquids, gases, oils and non-flammable hydraulic fluids. It should not be used with aggressive or flammable media unless this is specifically permitted by the system documentation. During installation, attention should be given to thread connection, sealing, cleanliness of the pressure line, correct wiring and protection against mechanical damage. Contamination in the pressure line can affect measurement behavior.
The ID-3 has defined service life, operational life and storage life limits. These values are important for aircraft and technical systems where sensors are used under scheduled maintenance control. Before installation, the sensor should be inspected for housing condition, connector condition, marking, storage status and availability of documentation. Functional checks should confirm correct response to pressure and proper signal transfer to the indicator. A sensor from storage may look unused but still require verification before being accepted for service.
In technical documents and procurement requests, the sensor may appear as ID-3 or in Cyrillic as ИД-3. These designations refer to the same inductive pressure sensor type, but the exact version, pressure range and documentation should still be confirmed before supply. Product passport and operational documentation are normally used to verify serviceability, storage limits and installation requirements. When ordering, it is useful to specify the required application, compatible indicator type, working medium and required document package.
